Grade 3 Unit 2 Addition & Subtraction Part 1

Unit 2 Addition & Subtraction Pt. 1

Content Emphasis/ Big Ideas

In this first unit, students extend their understanding of the base-ten numeration system and place-value concepts and apply that knowledge to multidigit addition and subtraction. Students build on their knowledge of two- and three-digit numbers and explore how those understandings extend to four-digit numbers. Students continue to build meaning for addition and subtraction through problem solving and an exploration of properties of addition
