Students in Grades 5 and 6 may receive weekly instruction on flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, baritone, tuba, or percussion. Anyone can learn to play an instrument with hard work, practice, and parental support! Students electing to participate in the BRES band are committed to the program for the school year. Learning to play a musical instrument can be a unique and important part of your child’s education.

      Mrs. Johnson has earned a Bachelor’s of Music in Instrumental Education from George Mason University as well as a Master’s of Education in Curriculum Development and Instruction from Southern New Hampshire University. Mrs. Johnson was born and raised in NY but has been living in northern VA since completing her undergrad at GMU. She enjoys spending time with and cooking for family and friends, exploring new foods and restaurants, as well as taking long walks with her pups.
