In this unit, students deepen their understanding of fractions. Students use models and benchmarks (e.g., 0, 1 2 , and 1) to compare and order fractions. They develop fluency with fraction models and notation. This supports the development of rational number sense. Strong number sense will improve students’ ability to compute efficiently with rational numbers in later units.

- MTH.G4.2.a Compare and order fractions and mixed numbers, with and without models. (PRS 1) MTH.G4.2.b Represent equivalent fractions. (PRS 1)
- MTH.G4.2.c Identify the division statement that represents a fraction, with models and in context. (PRS 1)
