Content Emphasis/ Big Ideas
In this unit, students deepen their understandings of fraction concepts that were introduced in first grade. Emphasis is placed on the use of models and fair shares in problem solving settings. Students identify, name, and write fractional parts for halves, fourths, eighths, thirds and sixths. Students will also compare unit fractions.
