In this unit, students work with plane geometric figures. They sort and classify objects and shapes and learn to identify shapes with given characteristics. Students find these shapes on the faces or surfaces of objects in their environment. This unit also provides an opportunity to develop measurement skills when classifying objects by length, weight and volume.
